Congratulations Donna Lee Powell!
At the recent National AFA Conference, we announced Donna Lee Powell, from DLP Life Design, the winner of the 2018 Female Excellence in Advice Award.
TAL has been the proud sponsor of this Award since 2011, which recognises the talents and contributions of women in financial advice to their clients, the community and their profession. The award has steadily gained momentum and this year attracted over 300 nominations, 100 more than in 2017.
In a year where the calibre of the five finalists was outstanding, the judges were extremely impressed with the professionalism and contribution Donna has made to the advice community and her outstanding work with her clients. Donna, who is based in Perth, started her career in financial services in 1995 and launched her own consulting business in 2017, where she specialises in helping women who are facing life-changing events.

Donna said “Winning the award has been the highlight of my career. It is a great honour to be recognised for excellence within the profession. I really do love what I do and feel that this award will allow me the opportunity to continue what I do on a greater scale.”
It is evident that Donna is genuinely passionate about making a real difference, and feels privileged to work with such personal and complex areas of her client’s lives, ultimately to get them the best possible outcome. She is someone who has a very clear purpose and added “In addition to the clients I see one to one, my vision is to provide an online platform for women, to provide the right educational content and tools so they take control of their financial future and design the life they want to live no matter what their individual circumstances are. I’m so passionate about Financial Advice that I would like to make it affordable and accessible to everyone, so more women seek Financial Advice and take control of their financial future.”
Donna will receive a $15,000 tailored education package, courtesy of TAL, that can be customised in line with her educational interests and requirements. We are excited to work closely with Donna over the coming year, and will continue to support initiatives that generate awareness around the need for more diversity within the profession itself whilst also addressing the underrepresentation of women seeking financial advice.
