Education for what matters, when it counts
What’s ahead at TAL Risk Academy in 2026.
No two advice businesses are the same. The questions clients are asking, the challenges to work through and the areas where some support is needed look different from one practice to the next.
That’s why TAL Risk Academy brings together learning across a wide range of topics, to support you when and where it matters most. From the in-depth technical content you’ve always known and trusted us for, through to emerging topics shaping advice and advice businesses today, the program reflects the real decisions you’re making and the outcomes you’re working towards for clients.
We’ve also built out training to support the broader work that happens in your business. Everything from insurance fundamentals to application, retention and claims-focused sessions to help your team work more confidently every day.
TAL Risk Academy is designed to work with how you operate. Go deep with in-person masterclasses, explore and learn from others in interactive workshops, or dip into webinars and on-demand learning whenever it suits.
Whatever you’re navigating this year, TAL Risk Academy is backing you with the right learning, focused on what matters, when it counts.
In February, Phil Anderson, FAAA’s General Manager of Policy, Advocacy & Standards, is presenting our first webinar of the year: ‘Life insurance and advice – challenges and opportunities for 2026.’
Phil will take you through market trends and legislation impacting our profession and set you up with the skills you’ll need to navigate challenges and grab opportunities in 2026 and beyond. Suitable for all financial advisers including risk specialists, the webinar is running on Wednesday 25 February: enrol now and earn 1 CPD hour.
- March is AI Month: reboot your approach to tech with business tools and tips and practical ways to use AI in your business.
- May is Ethics Month: back again after a great response last year, with more real-world case studies and practical pointers on all things ethics.
- June is Tax Month: each week in June, we’ll explore key aspects of providing tax advice in the context of insurance, helping you meet your Tax (Financial) Advice CPD requirements with practical, relevant content. The weekly webinars will give you clear insights into the intersection of tax and insurance, ensuring you stay compliant while delivering informed, high‑quality advice to your clients.
Keep an eye out for our TPD workshops happening in April, where Scott Hoger and David Glen will explore the evolution of TPD products, what this means for your advice and supporting your clients.

With over 75 courses to choose from, TAL Risk Academy has your 40 CPD hours covered this year. And it’s easier to find what you need and want to study as well: in our learning platform and course guide, courses are now grouped by CPD categories.
