What is your role at TAL?
As the Platform Manager for Individual Life in the Continuous Delivery Team, my role involves working closely with various teams within the broader Individual Life division to design and implement new products, processes, and capabilities. I am passionate about helping advisers best support their clients, and I truly value creating solutions that make a difference.
What is your professional background?
With over 20 years of experience in financial services, I've had the opportunity to work across key areas like product development, business development, and project/program delivery. My time in the industry has provided me with the perspective and knowledge to drive initiatives that foster innovation, improve operational efficiency, and boost customer satisfaction.
What role do you play in helping to support advisers to deliver value for their clients?
A big part of my role is focused on making digital capabilities simpler and more efficient. By reducing transaction times and streamlining processes, advisers can meet their clients’ needs faster and more effectively.
My goal is to create a seamless, supportive experience that enhances the adviser-client relationship and leaves everyone feeling valued.
What are you most excited about in your role for the coming 12 months?
I’m particularly excited about leveraging our expanding suite of digital tools and capabilities to create an even better experience for both our customers and advisers. The focus is on creating efficient processes that not only meet client needs but also empower our internal operations and servicing teams.
Watching these teams develop is incredibly rewarding, and over the next year, I’m looking forward to seeing how we can continue refining our service delivery and supporting new business opportunities through digital innovation.
How do you see the life insurance industry changing in the next five years?
I expect we’ll see a growing demand for self-service options, giving customers and advisers the ability to research, transact, and implement solutions anytime, anywhere, through digital platforms. Along with this, I think there will be a bigger push toward education, offering tools and resources to help customers and advisers make informed decisions throughout different life stages. Personalised, on-demand digital experiences will play a central role in meeting evolving customer expectations
Tell us something that’s guaranteed to brighten your day?
Spending time with my family - both immediate and extended - never fails to brighten my day. Sharing meals, making memories, or just enjoying each other’s company is something I truly treasure. I also find a lot of joy in playing team sports. The camaraderie and lifelong friendships I’ve built through sport are something I really value, and they always bring a smile to my face.
