New business pricing updates

We’ve made price adjustments for new applications for stepped and level premiums, starting from 8 September 2023.

These include Accelerated Protection Life, Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Critical illness (CI) and Income Protection (IP) benefits.

Adjustments will vary depending on your clients’ individual circumstances. That’s because we consider a variety of factors like age, BMI, and the benefits they are applying for. In most cases premium adjustments improve pricing for clients.

A 5% premium discount for more of your clients^

All new clients receive a 5% TAL Health Sense Plus discount on Life, TPD and CI insurance premiums for up to two years, irrespective of BMI. After that, if eligible, they can maintain their discount by confirming their BMI is in the healthy range and providing proof that they’ve had a preventative health check.

It's another way TAL supports and encourages your clients' good health and wellbeing.

We’ve changed our approach to TPD pricing with a new occupation class to provide greater clarity and more tailored pricing for more of your clients.

New Occupation Classes:

• P – Qualified Professional
• M – Qualified Health/Medical Practitioner
• W1 / W2 – Other White-Collar
• B1 / B2 / B3 – Manual Blue Collar
• SRA – Special risk category
• HD – Home Duties
