Changes for new Accelerated Protection applications from 26 May 2023
All new applications from 26 May will get TAL’s 5% Health Sense Plus discount upfront
Head of Licensees and Partnerships Beau Riley |
At TAL we’re focused on supporting your clients to improve their health and wellbeing. To encourage this, we’re extending our Health Sense Plus 5% discount to new TAL Accelerated Protection quotes from day one on premiums for Life, TPD and Critical Illness Insurance irrespective of BMI, starting 26 May 2023. This discount will apply for two years following policy commencement. Your clients will be able to retain this 5% discount after that for two year periods at a time, if eligible, by confirming their BMI is within the TAL Health Sense range (19.0 – 28.0) and taking a preventative medical check. All the evidence we require of the test is a copy of their GP’s invoice or referral letter. An offer will be provided to your eligible clients via email ahead of the expiry of the discount. There are no changes to the current TAL Health Sense discount which continues to apply for the life of the policy if conditions are met at the time of underwriting, nor are there changes to the TAL Health Sense Plus program for all other existing eligible customers. For more information, please visit our website, or download the full terms and conditions. |
New business pricing updatesWe are also making price adjustments for new Accelerated Protection applications for both stepped and level premiums. The price adjustments will apply to new applications for Accelerated Protection Life, Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Critical Illness (CI) and Income Protection (IP) benefits, from 26 May 2023. They will vary depending on your clients’ individual circumstances, as they take into account a variety of factors such as their age, BMI and the benefits they are applying for. Most premium adjustments will improve pricing for clients. .
Transition periodTo support you through this change, we will provide a 30-day transition period for both existing quotes and applications not yet submitted for your clients. All submitted applications in proposal will retain the quoted premium as submitted (subject to underwriting review). However, quotes and incomplete or unsubmitted applications will expire at the end of the 30-day transition period, and a new quote must be created via the TAL Adviser Centre.
