For conditions like mental health, fatigue and functional illnesses, the journey can be unpredictable. Our TPD Support Option is built for the uncertainty and available now within the TPD product you already know.

Around 40% of TPD claims today are for health conditions that rarely follow a clear clinical path with predictable outcomes*. Traditional TPD cover – designed for more predictable recovery outcomes – isn’t always fit for purpose.

The first of its kind in market, our new TPD Support Option (TSO) is designed differently, offering:

Support for recovery where it’s possible

TSO pays the same sum insured, in a different way, for TPD Support Conditions: those that often have uncertain recovery outcomes. Partial payments (20% of the sum insured) are made at 12-month intervals, subject to eligibility each time.

It acknowledges that, with the right support, your client’s health may improve and with treatment and time, they might return to work as well.

Long-term security for those who remain permanently unable to work

For all other conditions, your client’s TPD cover remains just the same. Claims are assessed under their chosen TPD definition and paid as a lump sum.

All the security of traditional TPD. More affordable premiums. And targeted support when tomorrow’s uncertain.

To provide the support your clients need, when they really need it

For conditions like some mental health, fatigue and functional illnesses, the recovery can be unpredictable. That uncertainty can make the claims experience longer too, impacting access to early support and, in turn, recovery.

With TSO, we’ll only ask for the information we need to assess TPD at each 12-month milestone, meaning faster access to financial support.

And, for serious disabilities when the Activities of Daily Living definition is met and for clients age 62 or older, a single lump sum will still be paid.
